Selling
Sales orders, wholesale vs. retail pricing, and automatic Shopify sync.
Creating a sales order
- Go to Selling and click New sales order.
- Enter the customer name.
- Pick the product, quantity, and price per unit — picking a product with a saved price autofills the price field, which you can still override.
- Add a delivery note if useful (neighborhood, courier instructions, etc).
- Tick Create manufacturing order if this sale should trigger production rather than ship from existing stock.
Open vs. Done
Sales orders move between Open and Done — an order counts as Done once its status reaches shipped. Anything not yet shipped, including cancelled orders, stays in Open.
Wholesale and retail pricing
If you sell to both retail and wholesale customers, set up a price list under Settings → Price lists — a set of overrides on top of each item's standard sales price. On the Sales orders page, pick a price list from the dropdown above the order form to price new orders at that tier instead of standard pricing. Existing orders are unaffected — a price list only changes what a new order defaults to.
Numbers on the list: Tax, COGS, Profit
The Total column is quantity × price per unit summed across every line on the order. Tax is whatever was actually recorded per line — it reads 0 until an order records real tax, it's not a calculated estimate. COGS (cost of goods sold) is an approximation: quantity × each item's current purchase price, not a historical snapshot from when the order shipped, so treat it as directional rather than exact — Profit inherits the same caveat, since it's Total minus COGS minus Tax.
Connecting Shopify
Under Settings → Integrations, enter your shop domain (your-store.myshopify.com) and connect. Once connected:
- New Shopify orders create sales orders here automatically, matched by SKU.
- Cancellations and edits on Shopify sync through as well.
- Stock reservations update in real time, so the same item doesn't get oversold across channels.
Disconnecting stops new orders from syncing but leaves everything already synced in place.
Invoices
Every sales order has an Invoice link that generates a printable document for that order — useful for sending to the customer or keeping a paper record for cash-on-delivery and courier hand-offs.
