Shop floor
A dark, high-contrast screen built for the actual floor — click-based or scan-based.
What it's for
The Floor screen (/floor) is separate from the main dashboard — it's meant to run on a tablet or terminal near the production line, not at a desk. It shows every open production job: which work center it's scheduled on, which manufacturing order and item it's for, planned quantity, scheduled date, and estimated hours.
Jobs are created against your work centers (set up under Settings → Work centers) — each work center has a real daily capacity in hours, so scheduling pushes jobs to a later date once a center is full instead of pretending it has unlimited throughput.
Click-based operation
- Click Start on a queued job to mark it in progress.
- Use the scrap stepper on the job card to record any defective units as they happen.
- Click Complete job when it's finished — this records the final scrap count and removes the job from the open list.
Scan mode
Toggle Scan mode on to drive the same actions with a barcode scanner instead of taps — a scanner just types characters and hits Enter, like a keyboard, so no camera or special hardware is needed beyond the scanner itself. With scan mode on, a single scan box stays focused and ready:
- Scan a manufacturing order's code once to start its job (queued → in progress), and scan the same code again to complete it. MRPverse figures out which action to take from the job's current status — you don't choose start vs. complete yourself.
- Scan an item's SKU to log material consumption against whichever job card you've tapped to "focus" — tap a job first, then scan the material and quantity being used against it.
Scan-to-complete always logs zero scrap — recording a defect count still goes through the job card's stepper, since a bare scan has no natural way to key in a number.
How this affects stock
Logging material consumption against a job draws down the recipe's consumed quantity and reduces on-hand stock the same way a manufacturing order completion does — see Manufacturing and Stock & traceability for the rest of that picture.
